Agrobränsle owns the part of Svalöf Weibull  that develops willow in Sweden. They are leaders in that field and supply us with varieties from improved clones with superior yield and resistance to pests and diseases. Growing willow for energy. Willow for energy is a good alternative for woodchip production. If the willow is well established, it can give the same yield in the field as grain or even more (ex. about 6 tones of grain per hectar per year). In winter time, every 2 or 3 years you can harvest the willow. This can be done with the help of improved machines. You can download our brochure about growing willow for energy here.

For willow for energy, we recommend the swedish willow clones. For exempel. Sven, Tora, Olof, Tordis, Inger and Gudrun. The clones are remarkable for their increased yield stability. Under good conditions the willow become between 5-6 meters high in approximate 1-3 years. Their growth is furthermore highly classified for the machine harvest.
